Ya, a 1.20 two stroke seems awfully big for an 11 lb. plane! [X(]

Hi all ...
I just picked up a Sagull Sparrowhawk 1.2 ARF  Looks nice !!!

Now I need to pick out an engine that will be a good fit for it.

I was looking at a DLE 20cc gas  or a DLE 30 cc gas.

Does anybody have a DLE 20 cc gas in the Sparrowhawk 1.8 ARF?

Thank You.

Gary,

I had exactly that setup and it flew great. Dumb thumbed it into the groud but put MANY flights on it and would recommend it highly.

Hi Lifter

What engine did you have? did you feel it had lots of power?

Gary,

DLE 20. The power was greater than scale, but not overpowered. Flew with 17x6 and 16x8. Have the bigger version too, and will use a DLE 55 in it. Both used Pitts mufflers. I really liked the plane and wish I hadn't dumb-thumbed it.

Thanks Lifer
Sounds like the DLE 20 cc gas is the way to go.
How was the CG?

Had to add weight. Filled the tubes below the firewall with bb's and epoxy. Added a little more to the firewall to taste. I like planes balanced really far back and then run with low throws on low rate, and drastic throws on high for tumbles and spins.
