Default Dolphin Fun Fly 50

I just bought a Dolphin Fun Fly 50 and it was set up for electric flight, but I was thinking about converting it to nitro. I have a Thunder Tiger .46 and I was just wondering if that would be a good set up for the plane. Also if it would be a good fit for the plane what would be any seggestions on mounting the motor and how about beefing up the nose of the plane to accomodate the glow motor.
Thanks,

Andrew

This is my Phoenix Dolphin Sport 40 from Tower. Powered by a Magnum .46 and swinging a 12 X 5 prop makes a good Sunday flyer.

If it is this plane.. I´d recommend a few "additions"

first off the os 55ax in there is great..
2nd. tape the aileron/wing gaps.. the fluttering in mine is audible in a dive.....
3rd. Get rid of the "gay lumberjack" pilot and spray the inside of the canopy black, you´ll thank me later!!!
4. replace the landing gear wire with something like the dubro unbreakable gear etc.. basic fibreglass arched thing.. Spray it metalic blue (car touch up paint is what i used) i match the covering material... again.. thank me later!

Will post a pic of the outcome tonight.

Thanks for the feedback. That would be great if you could post the pic of your on there. I am going to get started on mine as soon as can and once I figure out what all needs to be modified. So yours doesnt flutter much at all once you out the tape on the ailerons?

Capt,n:

I am sitting next to Andy right now and he has already talked to Dolphin, The plane was originally designed by a guy named Paul Xu (some guy in china that fly 3d).... The contact from Dolphin says that it can be done with modifications, i.e. with some extra reinforcements to the firewall, as well as the firewall supports.y andy also has an email in asking about if he should modify the ailerons to avoid flutter. but no word back about that.

I am trying to make him come to your house asap to get this thing air worthy. But he says he has to HUNT.... I think it is time for some Grandpa Grandson talk... In this case about his priorities!!!

Lots of luck on that one....He is hooked on Hunting...probably because he has darn good luck at seeing Deer to shoot...or just watch them sneak by!!![X(] I think I am lucky he even does airplanes at all. If he got the right plane....he could really get with the program!! Have him call me about that Dolphin sometime. Take Care Capt,n
