The Black Horse Trojan would probably fly ok with that engine, nice plane, ex CIA and Services training plane. Had one with a TT 91FS in the fron and was overpowered so a 2 stroke with that sort of power should pull it around ok. Or a Seagull PC9 would go very well with that engine up front.

You might want to look at the VQ line of warbirds.

VQ models, at6-Texan A nice flyer. I had an os 52 surpass on mine. I also had robart air driven retracts on it.
So it was slightly heavy but the 52 pulled it through the sky with authority, so I"m sure that a 52 2stroke is ideal

I second that. I have the VQ Macchi with an OS46AX. It flys like a low wing sports with no "warbird" like bad habbits. I did however find that the retracts were a bit weak - but other than that a good, fun, cheap warbird.

bjor - welcome to the Macchi group! I have an OS .70 4S on the front, it is a great plane. I did replace my retracts with some Hobbicos after the first ones cracked.
