Default gp cap 580 and fuji 86 combo questions help me out

what do you guys think about powering a GP cap 580 with the new fuji 86 twin I want it to work but feel it will be underpowered thanks jessie

that seems like a high price when i know the DL-100 is proven along with the DA-85 for that airframe... in the same range of price or lower....

Definitely a no go on the Fuji. It's very heavy and weak for it's size. It's also very expensive to repair should you have a mishap. Something like $>400 for a crankshaft. If the one you're looking at is the magneto version, it is almost impossible to start by hand. I have a friend with one in a H9 Extra and it falls out on uplines.

There's way too many stronger and lighter engine choices out there for the money.

I vote for a DL-100 if your on a budget. I fly all DA engines myself but a few guys at my field are running DL's with very good results so far. The DA-85 will fly the snot out of this plane also. It is said to produce more power than a 100 when setup on a tuned pipe.

good call on the dl I have a few 2 50's and a 100 all on ks pipes and they flat rip I was really wondering what you guys thought about this fuji 7.5 horse at 7.5 lbs with mufflers this is for a fella on a limited budget and is wanting to use the bill me later payment plan he can deck out the entire plane at tower except the motor have any of you ever run race gas 100+ octane and the pipes and what results have you had
