How about the new Great PLanes Lancair ES .......weighs about 9.25 pounds and looks competely different than anything else at the field. 80" wingspan, but it has a higher wingloading. Not too bad for a larger airplane though. Your vertical would not be unlimited, but near the limit of vision. NOT for 3D! though.

How about the Vector Flight Extra or Edge? At $149 it doesn't matter a lot of it's a bad choice, and they are really good!

Also, the best 3d'er at our field (truly amazing!) flies a Pizazz with a Saito 100. That'll do anything you want it to!

markdam,
Believe it or not, I've had my Ultimate completed with the exception of installing the battery and radio for several weeks now. I plan on finishing it this week and hopefully flying it on the weekend. I have two props I am going to test (both recommended for the Saito 11) 15x6 and 14x8. A friend of mine had a Saito 100 on a Joss Stick (bigger and heavier than my 8.3 Lb Ultimate and this Joss Stick would go ballistic using a 15x8 wood prop. So, I am anticipating that my Ultimate will also be fine vertically speaking. I talked to Goldberg Models before selecting the Saito 100 and they told me that would be a good match for their Ultimate. I'll give you a report soon.

You want different try the Yellow Aircraft 60 size edge 540t with the flag scheme. A Saito 100 would put your weight under 7lbs. with unlimited vertical.

One of the guys here in the Wichita Club is flying his Saito 100 on an Aeroworks Edge 540T 60/90 ARF. From what I've seen, that looks to be an excellent airplane/engine combination. RC Report a month or so ago did a couple reviews of the Aeroworks Edge 60/90, that might provide you some additional info.

Kevin3D,
Have you flown any of the other Yellow Aircraft .60 sized planes? I am in the same boat, I am looking for a home for my Saito 100 as well. I was looking towards the Yellow Aircraft .60 sized Suhoi instead. Have you flown it?

I'd have to say the Goldberg Super Chipmunk, mine has an OS 91 FS, and talk about flyin'!!! That Saito 100 would be a great choice!
I only say the Goldberg, because that's the one I have.

No pigman i haven't flown it but i would love to have one. It is built like the other new YA kits with the air foil tail feathers. Get one man is all i can say. I own the 60 size edge and a friend owns the 60 size extra his has a saito 100 and mine has a ys 91. I cant describe how these kits look when there complete they are just so shiny and the canopy fits tight and is tented already. landing gear comes pre painted. They even look better then the Dave Patrick edge i just finished.

I like that eram of planes, I think there is a 60 sized Stearman, that Gp or Kyosho puts out. It's a sweet looking plane or a 60 sized Waco bipe. Or, you could rat hole the Saito 100 and get a 120 and get the century jet 120 sized Pitts. Have fun!!!!!
