Default Price Drop, GP Super Skybolt ARF

I just noticed Tower/Omni lowered the price on the Skybolt ARF from 299 to 229. Coupled with the $20 off ad, that's a fantastic deal! Timing is right, just before Christmas, too! Happy Holidays to all of you!

Eww... that kind of discount normally only happens before something gets discontinued. They sold a lot of Venus II ARFs at $219.99 before raising the prices back up, though, so maybe the Skybolt ARF will still be around for a while.

In any event, thanks for the tip Pilgrim!

They've lowered the prices on them before.

I know what you mean. I've seen a lot of great deals at Tower and said "maybe I'll order it, let me think about it". Next thing you know, they are out of stock and discontinued.

Let's hope that is not the case with the Skybolt. Mine is probably my favorite airplane. I have a spare fuselage and tail section in the closet, just need wings and hardware to make a complete plane. I think I might gather the rest of those parts... just in case.

I just checked to see what it would take to buy wings and miscelaneous pieces to complete my spare skybolt and I might as well just buy the complete ARF using a discount coupon. The cost isn't much more.

It's odd nobody here at RCU has ever done a review of the Super Skybolt ARF... oh, wait!

That should help elaborate on MinnFlyer's opinion.

Yep, great job on the review! If anyone wasn't sold before, that should remove any doubt. I wanted one when they came out, but could not justify it. When they raised the price a while back, I figured it really was not meant to be. Since my wife didn't know what to buy me for Christmas, I suggested the Skybolt. Too good of a deal to pass up!

Yeah it is a great flying plane, I have a mag .91 4s in mine.
I crashed it and ordered another, then fixed the old one up and am flying it so I have a spare. Cost 300 though.
