Yes this combination does fly well!!! The plane came to 18 lbs and the engine w/20x10 dynathrust pulls 16 lbs. Takeoff was about 100 feet at 1/2-3/4 throttle. No bad tendencies, only needed 2 clicks of right aileron. Only got one flight before dark so not much aerobatics, did a loop on low rate at 1/2 throttle and a roll on hi rate....no problems. Great plane to fly, to bad the construction wasn't the same GP needs to work on this one a bit more.

I am glad to hear the plane did good on the U.S. 41...does the airframe look like it can really handle some of the motors I have seen guys mount on those planes?
I have been thinking of getting the GP Pitts but I was afraid it was going to really need more motor than I have(G-38).

No smoke system. 8 servos, 2 battery packs, 1 reciever. I didn't make any major mods that would add weight. The only mod was to glass the bottom wing joint. Next time I have the engine off, I'll weigh it.
