Received a Spitfire 60 2 stroke or 70 four stroke arf as a gift. Is anyonr familier with this plane by flight-model.com. It is made in China. looks great in box, but paint flakes off at the slightest touch. Also it came with retracts but the lg and it's mount is too far back in the wing and not even close to scale . It would look great on a p-47, but not on a Spitfire. I do not understand why anyone would go to the trouble to maufacture an arf and not include at least close to scale gear. Also I have noticed many arf's where the lg looks too small for the size of model. I think I will close up the lg openings. and cut into the wing and install the lg in a scale location and in a fixed position. Logair

Do what you've got to do to make it yours. I got and ARF for Xmas and will trash the vertical and horizontal stabs just because I don't think they look right - there's nothing wrong with the kit parts.

Ram Jet, Good for you! I have been building and designing my own rc planes for many years and it is a mystery to me why the mfg. co's cannot put out a product that at least looks like the real plane. It does not have to be perfect scale, but at least make it to good proprtions. it would not cost anymore to do it right. This arf also did not include lock nuts to mount the engine mount, just easy spin on nuts! Have fun with your tail rebuild. Logair
