I have a H9 Super Cub with a G23 and I damaged the rudder. Now I am trying to find some iron on white fabric covering that matches the original covering. The covering is off white with a flat surface. I tried Coverite white but it has a gloss finish.

Where can I get a suitable fabric to repair the rudder?

You might check with www.nelsonhobby.com and their brand of fabric covering. They have a linen colored fabric that might be a close match. I have used this brand on several projects, and it is by far my favorite fabric covering. BTW, you apply it much like the other 'coat coverings.

Thank you for the information. I looked them up and I think that their unpainted fabric may be just what I need.

Thanks from me too. I have a H9 SC and while it doesn't need any covering yet, it will in the future, up around the bottom by the cowl. Speaking of cowls, where could I get one. Does Fiberglass Specialties have one?

Fiberglass Specialties has 2 cowls listed for that airplane. Not sure which number is the right one. I'm looking for a slightly larger / longer Super Cub cowl for mine to see if I can hide a gasser in there.

I bought my Super Cub used and do not have the manual. Does any one know the correct colors. The white looks to me to be an off white and the red also looks off color.

Any additional help on the correct color would be appreciated.

I just looked through the manual and they never listed the colors of the Worldtex. I know they are pretty washed out, semi-gloss red and white colors. There are very few choices of Solar-tex colors so they have to be the red and white standard colors. You can get covering samples from Balsa USA for $1.00 so that might be a good way to go for color matching. Many times these airplanes were clear coated for fuel proofing after assembly and this might be the case for your airplane. Some clears can really change the appearance of the colors.

Today I received my Solartex samples from Balsa USA. The covering samples are about 1 by 3 inches and they are stapled to a sheet of heavy paper that has the colors listed in the order of the stapled samples. The samples cost me $1.00 with no shipping and handling charges - which I find amazing.

The samples confirmed that the Hanger 9 Super Cub was covered in Solartex white and trimmed in Solartex Red.

Thanks to everyone who helped me figure out the covering material's identity.

World Tex was noted in post #4 but I didn't know that Horizon was still carrying it. I just visited their website and see they still have a few colors in stock. Thanks jsccdoom for the update. Always good to know these things.
