Default OS 75AX Question??????

I bought a new OS 75AX and noticed it did not come with a exhaust muffler gasket...Do I need the gasket or will it be fine without it..?

Thanks

You can cut one from the side of a aluminum Cola can with a knife if you like

Make it easy on yourself. Buy a can (brush type) of Permatex High Tack gasket sealer. I used this stuff on a 1973 Kawasaki triple motorcycle to seal the exhaust gaskets rather than replace them. I took the heat just fine and cleaned up with lacquer thinner upon rebuild.

I haven't needed a gasket on any of my 4 AX engines.

All I can say is, I've been using mufflers since the 60's and it's only in the last 15 years or so that I have even SEEN gaskets supplied with some engines - and even now, it's only SOME engines that supply them.

Those green Super Tiger gaskets would only last 10-15 min.

The Tower 46's when they first came out had an aluminum gasket that held up OK.

My 55ax is machined with japanese precision.
No leaks at all.

These OS engines are so perfectly machined that they do not leak exhaust, I have a OS 75 ax and it is my favorite 2 stroke engine.

I have one OS 55 AX and one 75 AX, both engines work superbly, no troubles and lots of power. The power box mufflers are quiet too! On the last flights in the fall i noticed that the muffler on the 75 started to sweat, and a closer inspection revealed that the centrescrew had started to loosen. One should anticipate that you just tighten the nut, and then the sweatting would stop, but in fact, I had to turn the nut the opposite way to get it tight. Can anyone explain this?
