Default Global Caprice 15 ARF

This model looks like a miniature Hobbistar 60 ARF, but with a very funky white covering with lime green and pink swirls printed on it. No wonder this model went extinct some years ago.

However, it was a surprisingly good flying model when powered by either an OS .20FP or an OS FS-20 four-stroke. Naturally, the .20FP overpowered it, but in a most pleasant way. The FS-20 four-stroke powered it "just right" for me. That is, snappy performance, but not unlimited vertical. This little model handled ROG (Rise Off Ground - takeoffs) easily from our thick grass flying field with either engine.

Unfortunately, mine was destroyed during a move from NJ to GA in the USA. I should have kept the parts and rebuilt it, but I did not. Big mistake.

Oddly enough, the little FS-20 four-stroke (straight pipe exhaust) was the loudest four-stroke at our field, with the exception of YS four-strokes. This little rascal out-barked the muffled 1.20 and .91 sized four-strokes with ease. Everyone I asked liked the sound and said not to muffle it. It sounded that good. I have an FS-30 and a Magnum .30 four-stroke, but I sold the little FS-20 some years ago. What a mistake! I'm beginning to see a pattern here.

On days that I don't feel like bothering with the big planes and mostly just want to mess around and talk at the field, a model of this size turns out to be absolutely perfect. It handles the wind well, takes off easily from most fields and is easy to handlaunch with the Tx in the other hand on days you just feel like handlaunching.

I would love to find another one of these models in any condition. Hint - hint! <G>
