I read alot of post on here about the UCANDO 46 and 60..I am really wanting to try my hand at 3d and I really like the UCANDO planes not sure if I will get the 46 or the 60.But my quetion is it seems like alot of people are having issues with them breaking apart in flight...Is this a design flaw or are people not putting these together correctly? I see on the GP website it tells you not to fly it too fast..Is this an issue also? Is there another plane that you would recommend for entry into 3d? I do like to fly fast sometimes...

I have been flying a 46 U-Can_Do for lots of flights and use a Saito 82 for power flys great,not fast but very good for 3D.It has a large light wing so floats in beautifully for landings. Go for it.

I've got both ...the 46 & 60..prefer the 46 over the 60...put a 91 saito on the 3rd 46..much better than the 70 they recomend...as far as 3D planes go...just so so...wing rock in harriers...have to keep on top of it....and they are not meant to fly fast...a real good 3D plane you can fly fast...go for a MoJo 40 or 60..excellent learning 3D plane..link for the mojo site..http://swanyshouse.com/index.aspx and if you want to see a MoJo being put through it's paces go to this link...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6pKU1LFvlMM..have a MoJo 40 with a YS 63 & a 13x6 wood prop... great combo...just my 2 cents for what it's worth...

I've been around a lot of UCD 40 & 60 planes. The ones that came apart were being flown fast.

A friend has a 60 that he's flown exclusively for three years with a OS 120AX and it has never come apart.

I put a .91 Surpass on the .46 size; took a lot of finessing, especially the throttle linkage. Got it ready to balance... and lost intereset. First time that has ever happened to me; got a new, unflown model almost ready to go, and I have ZERO interest in flying it.

The servos are coming out today, for a new project.

2 years ago at the filed, a club member did the maiden flight on his ucando 60 with a saito 100 and tower digital servos. It flew great and it hovered real nice he said.
A little coupling during knife edge but that can be sorted out real easy.
Looked like a great plane to me, if they were available as kits I`d definately buy one.

I've had 3 or 4 of the 46's and a 60 and the only time they have come apart is when I smashed them into the ground. They are really fun planes but not top notch 3D planes. The Saito 82's are right at home on the 46 and the 60's do well with the YS 110's and Saito 125's. The key is not to fly them fast. The will disintegrate if oversped.

t-rolls and waterfalls is the only 3d the u can do is strong on.....

I lost my UCD 60, with a OS 75, last summer I was trying to learn 3D and fat thummed it. I actually think that this plane should have been my initial trainner. Takeoffs and lands are a dream. Flies Ok but the guys at my field say it needs more "coupling" thans why I crashed (Not really it was dumb me). Anyway I will get another.

I think the are good planes when used as intended.

The main problem I've seen with them is tank height

I've had more problems with the tank height on the 60 than the 46's. I just make a loop in the fuel line to the carb and that helps out a lot. Problem is is that if I keep reading this thread I'm going to have to order another one.

WOW I do like that kangke 50. But that will have to be my next plane I just bought a Hangar 9 Twist 60..

The Kangle 50 will fly so very slow and lands the same and its just outstanding in all of the 3d moves. Its has a easy to figure out color scheme while you are in learning mode of some fo the 3d imputs......

I am presently putting together a Filton Extra to see how it does as I have heard great things about this bird....I should be finished it soon but the colder weather has me running from it......

There is one thing I am worried about.I know nothing about 3d except what i have seen on video.I mean nothing.I am hoping to just fly the Twist and get used to the way it flys and ask people at my club if they will point in the right direction..I don't plan on getting to crazy with it first off..Any links to how to's and any input would be helpfull...I can do basic loops and rolls with my super stick 60..

Exactly. I would venture to say that, at least in the case of the 60 size UCD3D, it can fly as tame if not more tame than a 60 size stick due to it's very thick airfoil. We have had a few guys go to it as their second plane and first low wing.

If your deciding between the .46 and .60 remember the golden rule. Bigger flies better.

Well I did buy a Twist 60..I do like the 60 size planes better anyways just for the fact that they are more visable in the air...
