New Seagull Edge 540

NICE!!! Didn't know they made the 120 size. Hmmm....dang. Too many planes and not enough time. I want them all! haha Maybe when I am old and gray...wait I am getting gray now! Might be sooner than I think. It looks like the perfect plane for a 26cc gasser. I happen to have one of those too....only on a plane right now. I see in the classifieds there are nice 26cc engines for less than the cost of that OS....
Nice plane man. Hope maiden goes well. Let us know how she flies.

Hi Guys,
Just an update on the Edge. I have a good few flights up on the Edge. It flies well and goes where you put it. The OS 120AX is the perfect engine with loads of power and power to spare. Its a little light on the tail wheel so in windy conditions when taxiing it can be blowing around a bit.
Once lined up for take off its no problem. The Edge lands a little fast but has no bad tendencies to stall but one thing it does if you don't get the landing spot on is it will bounce so that is a challenge in itself.
All in all this is a good model for the price and would recommend it.
Thanks D.

I think Horizon have stated somewhere here on RCU that they don't bring all the Seagull line in to the Sates. At first I thought it might be that they didnt bring over planes that might take sales away from similar Hangar 9 planes but now I'm not so sure as that doesn't explain why they havent plans as yet to import other Seagull planes like the new big Decathlons,Texans,Gee Bee etc from Seagull or Phoenix for that matter that we seem to get down here in Oz and the UK guys get also.I guess it all comes down to the distributor, maybe someone needs to get some numbers of modellers and do some serious lobbying over there.

dmurf,
Glad to hear the news! Sorry I didn't reply back before. I did not get to fly mine for a couple weeks after that photo was taken. My maiden flight was very interresting. The plane handled great and I was immediately comfortable with it. I made a touch-and-go.. no problem. Went inverted.. and engine failure. [X(] Luckily, I was near the downwind side of the runway and was able to bring her in nice and smooth. Like I'd been flying her for months.
Problem was caused by having the fill and supply lines swapped. My goof.
My only issue now is the 10 oz fuel tank is only good for about 8 minutes. I know the 120AX is even thirstier than my Saito, so hope your tank is bigger.
I have a new 120AX too that I was originally going to use in the Seagull. Now I need find it new home. I hear they're a great engine with more power than the Saito 125 I'm using, so your edge must be a rocket!

No problem GutZee, Good to hear your maiden went well and you were able to land safely when the engine cut. Edge still in one piece at the moment.
