adding tail weight in horizontal stab ?:)

hey guys
soo hears my problem
ok i have a black horse katana 60 with a saito FA 1.20 up front it is mounted sidewards with the cylander on the right
it is about 25 to 30 grams nose heavy and i want to add the weight in the horizontal stab on the left side to compensate for the cylander weight on the right side
i want to cut the balsa covering away at the top and add in lead and glue the cobering back down
would this effect the Structure of the tail and weeken it
does the horizontal stab have a simular thing to wing loading that could break stuf if i add uneaven weight in the tail or just add awight in the tail
any help or sugestions would be great

Well if the balance is off side to side, I generally add small bits to the wing tips if needed. Never tried it in the stab like you mentioned. Not sure 100% but it seems like you would snap off your stab in a maneuver that requires lots of elevator if the weight is not centered on it. Someone else may have a better idea of that. Weighting the wings tips allows you to use less weight to achieve the same goal. Just a thought,

yes than kyou Mr. Mugen thats what i was thinking might just play it safe and add it in the tail of the fuse
any paticular way to add in the tail

Mr.Mugen is right about putting the weight in the wing. It is designed to take all the stress of manuvers, the stab isn't. It won't take much weight in the end of a wing to take care of any imbalance. I always predrill the hole & put a little Med. CA on a finish nail &quickly slide it in flush. On the front to back balance you might try moving your motor back as far as you can. you will be suprised how much difference that can make. Even if you have to trim your cowl some (a big pain) it will definitly be worth it. Every ounce of "dead weight" you put on your plane will effect the performance !! Good Luck

yeah i kinda had to extend the cowling by 1 inch to get the engine to fit and it is mounted as far back as it posibley can be lol
yeah it makes sence to add weight at the wing tip because of the extra leverage
where do i ballance the plane from to check latteral balance?
since its a 1.20 4 stroke in a 60 size plane with a recomended.91 4 stroke i dont think it wil realy effect the plane exept the wing loading :-/ i might be wrong lol
