Hi guys - i posted this before, and got a charger that I don't really like.
I would like to get a field charger that I can plug into the wall and that charges my batteries fast. I want it to be able to charge the remote battery and receiver at the same time. What I want is to be charging while I fly so that I don't have to stop and wait for a charge.
Also, I am looking for a good receiver battery for a futaba receiver.
thanks!

What kind of batteries are you charging?
I don't think they make charger cables that long.
It may be hard to find a charger that charges both the receiver battery and transmitter battery at the same time. They run at different voltages.
I have the Turnigy Accucel 6 that I like to use on all my batteries. It hooks up to a field battery box or plugs into the wall at the house using an AC adapter. It charges multiple battery types and I can set the charge rate.
Look at http://www.hangtimes.com/nobsbatteries.html for good quality receiver batteries.

I have a Hangar 9 Double Vision charger. If you are seeking charger envy from all your friends, this might not be the charger to get but, if you want a charger that works without all the math, this one is great! It charges both 4.8 and 6v and will charge your Tx batteries as well. It also has a port to charge the glow igniter. I've had two and the glow igniter charger died on both of them so, that wouldn't be the reason that I'd buy one but it was nice while it lasted. I sent the first one back to Hobby Services and they sent me a new one. I have no issues with their customer service, I'm just hesitant to send it back for another one simply because the glow-charger isn't working. I just make sure that the batteries are charged in the igniter and worry about charging the plane and Tx batteries. I have no real issues with this one. I tried to use an Accu-cycle for a while and the batteries weren't getting a full charge. I'm sure that I didn't have the settings 100% correct but, I basically used the settings programmed into the Accu-cycle. My experience was much better with the Double Vision charger and it's about half the price. It WON'T do lipo batteries though. Hope this helps.

I have the Venom Pro charger from Tower. It's available with a DC power supply, and it is incredibly capable. I love it. It does not charge two batteries at once. It comes with every wire you could need, including a balance box and a temperature probe. I think it's about $90 w/o power supply, and $130 with. And just to recap, I really love this charger
I recently got the MRC Superbrain 977. For about a hundred bucks, another charger with DC power supply. This one will charge two completely different batteries at the same time. Only used it once so far but it seems to work well. One of the outputs is a built-in kyosho or tamiya, so it's a good idea to grab an adapter. The other output is banana plugs. I think the one complaint is that you can use a program setting for one battery, but when adding a second battery you need to manually enter the settings. I have yet to find the patience to read a manual and program anything; I just manually enter every battery so I don't notice the issue.
Both available from Tower.
By the way, what don't you like about the charger you got?

I also use the Hanger 9 Double Vision Charger and for me it works just fine. Simple to operate, no fancy bells, whistles or programming, but does just what it is supposed to do.... charge your TX and RX Nicads and Nimh and you just keep on flying.

Cheers

this is the one I have and the reason why I am here is because I thought the grass was greener on the other side, but apparently, not
the only thing I don't understand about this charger is that, I put a battery on it and even after it's fully charged, if i plug it back in the charge indicator shows a low charge. Also, what are the "Start charging" buttons for if the batts start charging without pushing the buttons.
This charger would have been PERFECT if I could plug it into the wall - I wonder if it would work the same way if I use the field battery charger with it

If you are referring to the Double Vision charger, then you have to push the start buttons to proceed with charging, the lights will blink to indicate this. Just plugging it in will only show the current status of your battery charge with a solid light.
It can be used off your flight box battery(7A or 4A) some but will drain it fairly quick if using it constantly. I have two 20A and a 7A in my flight box that I can power the field charger with but I prefer to hook it up to my truck battery. It supplies a constant steady voltage to the charger to ensure the batteries are charged fully.

You don't want to run your charger off another charger. You can however either purchase a 12v power supply, or make one out of a computer power supply.
Something like this would work great:

My dad has a Hobbico Accu-cycle with a 12V supply. When I was charging around the house, I'd use the supply from that. otherwise, I've got a deep cell battery in my trailer that I use at the field.
I just wish I could figure out how to get my glow igniter charger port to work again. [>:]

You might want to consider the following charger. You will need a 12v convertor for home and use your car battery at the field.
There is no programming required. No off/on switch. Just plug and play.
This is just food for thought.
Sirius Charge Pro Series (Plus)
Designed Specifically for Radio Control Batteries
Rejuvenate batteries while fast charging
Fast charges TX and RX at the same time
1000 mA charge rate
Eliminates cycling & overnight charging
Operates from 12 volts DC
Includes connectors
Rugged cast aluminum case
Transmitter channel charges 4 to 8 cells,
250 to 4000 mAh NiCd and 500 to 3000 mAh NiMH cells
Receiver channel charges 4 to 6 cells,
250 to 4000 mAh NiCd and 500 to 3000 mAh NiMH
