Just wondering if anyone has this model found at www.peakmodel.com? I have found a few discussions about there other planes but nothing on this one. If you could share your building and flying experience if you have one that would be great...

I'm equally interested in this plane but I have just ordered one direct from China but in a different colour scheme.
The supplier told me my version was OEM Aero-Works, even though I take that statement with a grain of salt.
These are the specs:
Top wing span: 1780mm
Bottom wing span: 1688mm
Fuselage length: 1600mm
Weight: 3800 G (not include engine and radio)
Wing area: 105 D㎡
Engine: 45-53cc Gasoline engine
Propeller: 22X8 or 22X10
Servo: 8 set standard servos
I will be using a two cylinder RCGF50cc gasser. The plane should arrive here sometime next week. I will post some photos when I receive it

I didn't say mine was the same as the Peak Model one - I said it had been claimed to be an OEM Aeroworks

Got my Peak Pitts Python last week. I am still in the assembly mode. Model arrived from China with everything intact. Looks outstanding. DLE55 engine looks quite nice, also. Instructions (lack of) are crap, you have to download and print them off PEAK site, but they leave a lot to be desired and they lose too much in the translation from Chinese to English !!! They also double as the same instruction manual for their ultimate in many instances. Fortunately, this is not a "beginner" type aircraft, so anyone without prior modeling knowledge is not likely to purchase it. That being said, a seasoned modeler will have no problems assembling the plane. Overall, the plane and most of the accessories included are nice. I chose to use some other stuff from previous planes as well as new articles such as a Don's Hobbies Pull-Pull sytem for the rudder instead of the supplied version. Usage of every part they send with the model will work and the plane will fly well with it, there is one at our field flying now as supplied from PEAK MODELS, and it does outstanding. Personal preference and availability on hand of other products made me change some of the hardware. </p>
The only snafu I have come across is the upper and lower wing control horn attachments plywood pieces on the ailerons are located so as to require the upper wing servo horns pointing towards the wing tips and the lower wing servo horns pointing towards the fuselage in order to line up correctly on the aileron horn. I have not successfully made all four ailerons operate in the right direction yet, with them being on channel 1 master and 6 slave and each on a "Y" harness. (Futaba 9CAP Super). I will devote more time tonite to try to figure it out. They could have easily moved the piece of plywood that the control horn mounts to on the botto ailerons to the same location that the top ones were at and problem would have been solved. </p>
Other than that, the plane looks to be a real keeper. The earlier version my flying buddy is flying has the DL50 on it and is over powered with that set up. I KNOW the DLE55 is going to be a screamer if it proves to be a more powerful engine than the DL50. Hope to be airborne next week. PACO </p>

I have a peak yak 50cc, the build quality is great for the money, and it is an excellent flyer.
the problem i have, is that i recently tried to contact peak via all the mail addresses on their web site, and also via their on line enquiry form, the purpose of this, wasan attemptto purchase some matching film, and a replacment cowl for my model (their online store says sold out of cowls and does not list the film) two weeks later -no reply, so yes, they sell good stuff, just do not expect any back up service. I will buy another ,but it will be direct from cyclone toy and hobby in china, do a websearch, and check out what they have, the python is there and they sell the DL range.

CAVANDISH, you might try going to the add here on RCU that sells thier PITTS PYTHON and DLE55, go to the "ask seller a question" and contact "Way" who I assume must be the contact person for PEAK. When my PYTHON first arrived, I had a question or two about some things, so I sent him an email and had an answer within a few hours. He may be able to help you with the YAK. PACO

Here are some photos of what I received. I haven't unwrapped everything but what I have seen so far, looks great.
Only problem was the canopy was cracked but I have contacted the supplier and expect it to be replaced in the next few days.
This model is covered with Monokote

Picture of almost complete plane. I changed the method for attaching the bottom wing from a couple of small screws, which were very inaccessable to the "O"ring attached to a couple of cup hooks I made from 10-24 "eye bolts". I removed the MM blind nuts in the wings and replaced them with 10-24's, made the eye bolts, used a 2 inch "O" ring to capture the wings. Should work well.

Here's my almost complete plane. I still need to add the tail flying wires and balance the craft. It turned out pretty decent, hope it flies as good as it looks. It's going to be a flying billboard for Peak Models !!!! but it was just too plain without all the decorations on it. Hope you like it...PACO

the bottom wing is in two pieces. It hasa line up pin at the front and rear of the root rib of each wing half anda carbon fiber wing tube that goes thru the fuse. Originally, it was supposed to have a screw put in from the inside of the fuse into a blind nut in the wing to keep the wing secured to the fuse. There is very little room for that inside the fuse. I thought about putting a stud in the wing and then putting a wing nut on the inside of the fuse onto the stud when the wing is in place, but even that was an really tight fit.
As you can see, I mounted a pair of "eye bolts" with a slot cut in them to make them like a cup hook and then opened up a slot in the side of the fuse for these eye bolts to stick inside the fuse when the wings were in place. I then put an "O" ring across the two cup hooks to keep the wings from coming off. Easy to get on and off, no screwing in to anything and works great. I will actually put two "O" rings on at a time just for redundency.
This method has been used in pattern planes, etc for some time. Most of the time they just use rubber bands to hold the wings in place, but I elected to use "O"rings instead. Almost no give at all with the "O" ring.

Hey, that looks great.
I'm just in the process of starting the build onone of theseand I'm wondering how the balance came out? I'm thinking of shortening the standoffs to get the spinner back a little bit. Thanks

balance came out right on the money, seems to be just about right. I put both my lipo batteries on the right side about mid way of the fuse compartment andone regulator and receiver on the opposite side same area.
I also considered shortening the standoffs a bit to make the engine fit more inside the cowl, but elected not to in the end. One at our field does not use a spinner and mine does, both look OK with the engine mounted on the stand offs as sent from PEAK. Try it first, if you don't like it, you can modify it later. PACO

They look nice in the pics but how much of thier hardware did you toss out?
Aeroworks would be a better brand but Iguess the cost is up there.
