Default Phoenix Model Mfg Sonic 25 low wing

Hello,

Has anyone seen or heard about this company or this airplane? It is new to me, Tower Hobbies sells these ARFs cheap, and they look somewhat decent. Anyone seen one up close?

Thanks
Robert Fischer

Default Now that's a cute little plane....

...looks like a little pattern plane....looks like it would
fly good too. Should be a lot of fun for $75., especially
if you already have the motor....

Dave.

Default Sonic .25

I've been thinking about one of these, too, but have not been able to find out much about the plane.
I have an OS .25FX sitting around doing nothing.

I just bought a phoenix sonic, and was I impressed! I knew that it would be a great flyer the minute I opened the box. This arf only took one long evening to put together, all the hinges were already installed and pinned, the quality is great, and the planes construction is stout. The stab and rudder glued right in and were in perfect alignment, no adjustments. I didn't even have to get the dremel out. Even the instructions were in color, and very clear, the control rods were assembled and done very nicely, I installed a new Airtronics VG6000 and what a great combo this makes, I love the plane, and the radio, wow am I impressed with both purchases. I had to add some weight to the nose to the the cg inline with the instructions, set the control throws (a snap with the VG6000) and took it to the field. This plane lifted off and required only a small amount of trim, it flys beautifully, and is very responsive. Very stable and steady, quite capable of some snappy tricks. I would recommend this plane and radio to anyone, I like it so much, I'm going to order another one just so I have a spare! If you want a super plane and a radio that is easy to program and is smooooooooth, get the Phoenix Sonic 25, and an Airtronics VG6000, You'll be very happy. By the way I installed an O.S. 25LA on the plane and it's plenty of juice to make her go!!!!

Got one to replace my son's Avistar Select I crashed. Read the "rating" I did for it using the link below:

Overall, nice plane. Built solid and flies fast with the OS 40LA. Have had a problem with the clunk getting stuck in the bottom front of the fuel tank (no inverted or hammer head maneuvers) but can dislodge it with a slight shake after landing. I'm so lazy.....

Also, front wheel broke into numerous pieces during a hard landing my brother made with it today. I needed to replace the little wheels with 2" ones due to grass field conditions at my chosen airfields. Anyway, been flying the heck out of the plane and really like it.

I don't have any experience with that specific plane, but my Phoenix Sukhoi is excellent quality and flies great....I'd buy another one in a second.
