Default Ultra Sick .60 vs. U-Can-Do-3D

Which plane do you think is better, the Hangar 9 Ultra Stick .60 or the Great Planes U-Can-Do-3D .60? Why do you think one or the other is better?

Your talking about apples and oranges. These planes are so different you can't really say one is better unless you describe what you are going to do with it. Also , neither one is a good second airplane. I think you are the same guy asking questions about your trainer earlier. Buy a Supersportster from great Planes or maybe better yet a Tiger 2 from Goldberg. Both of these planes will let you do some aerobatics and land more like a trainer than
the two you asked about. i hope this helps.

I am going to do aerobatics with them. I asked the people at my club about them and they said I am more then ready for either one. The only thing I asked about my trainer is how to get the throws higher.

I fly a U-Can-Do-3D. With reduced throws, you could easily handle it if your ready to graduate from a trainer.

I looked at both just as you are, and after previously owning an Ultra Stick 1.20 with a Saito 1.80 GK, I went with the U-Can-Do-3D. It is a great airplane and assembly is a piece of cake. The only things that need glued together are the ruuder fin and the cowl mounting blocks. The wing is 1 piece. The fuselage servos are all tail mounted except the throttle servo. Rigging is simple.

I have a Saito 100 on mine and it is just awesome. It will do all the 3D maneuvers. The only issue I've had is with the tank location; it is too high. The engines are designed to be mounted inverted and depending on engine selection, you may have some minor fuel siphoning issues. I ended up putting 2 large loops in the fuel line and it cured the problem. Good luck on your decision.

Yeah... they both could be used for trainers themselves. But, neither one is what I'd call an aerobatic plane. The UCD is a great 3D plane, though. Very stable in 3D, too. The ultra stick is more of a fast flying, zoom around, flipflop.... typical stick... plane.
