Default U-Can-Do With ZD engine !!

GOTCHA !! I thought this thread SUBJECT might get your attention!
What I really wasnt to know is....Is there ANYONE flying the big UCD with a .61 engine with positive results ? I'm an old fart (72) that bought one because I just because liked the way it looked ! Real cool .
Anyway, I'm gonna put a OS .61 FX in mine and fly it just for fun. There a few UCD's "Flying" ( Hogging the runway) at at our field and frankly They bore me to death, kinda like Pattern ! (Oops, Flame time! ) LOL !
All I want to do is some basic maneuvers and a few touch and go's.
The manual says that you can Hover with the .61 ....But is anyone flying with the lower end engine and enjoying it ?

Thanks Guys,
Ugo

Default Yessiree...

Tho I've not flown one with a .61 fx... I have no doubt that it would perform exactly as you wish.... The plane would only weigh about 7 lbs with a .61fx...

Based upon a good number of reports, the plane WILL hover witha .61fx but won't pull out with authority...

Meaning you have greater than 1:1 thrust and PLENTY of power for just about any maneuver but the most extreme 3D ones...

You'll love it...

I flew mine for a few days with a K&B .61 and it flew fine with no vertical so it didn't take very long for me to switch to an OS .91 FS which is much better. The cg was just right with the K&B with the battery forward, had to move the battery aft with the OS engine.

Thanks, Morbid and Huey ! I'll try the .61 based on your info. However, If I have to kick it up a notch, I,ll use the Fox .07 that

Try an 18/8. I had good luck with my Fox 07 that I bought from you!(until it flew away!).
