Default Kyosho Gee Bee Dihedral problem

Hello,

A friend of mine bought that nice looking plane (still has to try to fly it...).
The suggested dihedral of the wings is "+/-14cm" (which is about 5.5 inches). When assembling his wings together, he only obtains about 11cm (4.3 inches). Any suggestions? Has somebody experienced that problem? Should he really try to obtain the suggested dihedral? And if yes, how to do this : sanding the wingextremity is not an option; plywood of only fingernail thick?

Thanks for your experience.
