Is DP Ultimate tough to fly?

Yo!
I've been drooling over the blue DP Ultimate (the big one) and wondered if it is too soon for me to consider ordering one.
I've been flying for about three months after a long layoff. My skills are decent and I get the occasional "looks like you know what you're doing" compliments.
I've only flown .40 sized planes so far, but land them fairly smoothly most of the time. I've got about 55 flights on my Avistar and can do most basic stunts that the plane is capable of. I can fly inverted figure eights, snap rolls, hammerheads, etc.
This wouldn't be my second plane. I just maidened my SkyVista today, and have a Super Sportster and a Thunder Tiger Lazy Tiger P-51 as my next projects.
Yes, I have been infected by the RC bug!
Would the DP Ultimate be too much for me? I've been wanting a biplane and this one is soooooo pretty.

In all honesty I say go for it! Back in the day when i leard to fly i believe the CG Ultimate was my 3rd airplane and let me tell you I learned more on that airplane then anything else I have flone! I put about (I **** you not) about 1500 flights on it till I lost my elv. servo and lost the airplane. since that time me and my father both have always had an Ultimate in our hanger.
The way they fly is just awesome, I really cant say enough about it! I've had all YS. 120s on mine and the power to weight is AWESOME they have the power to do anything i want and need them to do. hopes this helps you!

Is it easy to fly. Basically, yes. But it has a pretty big "pucker factor" because when you are all done you will have about $1200 invested in her. Also, if you own this thing, people expect you to fly really wild and crazy to show her off. The proper thing to do if you get one is to take it slow and don't do things with her that make you uncomfortable. I have found, that on low rates, she is very docile plane with no bad tendencies. Actually I've found no bad tendencies at all. I have yet to have her try and snap out on me or stall badly when landing.
My Ultimate has a Saito 1.80 in her and flies great. I also have a blue one I'm going to build and put a YS 1.20 in just to see.
Actually if you want a plane just as nice for a little less investment, get the Goldberg Ultimate. It is in between a .40 and a 1.20. I also had one of these and loved it also. It was also designed by DP. Some may argue, but I think it flies as good as the DP and is made just as well. You will need an OS 1.08 2s or 1.20 4s (OS or Saito) for her to fly awesome.

you sound pretty competant to me. the only thing to remember about going from trainer to something like an Ultimate is that theplane WILL NOT try to correct itself. it will go where u point it. no dihedral. i would suggest add it to your hangar if you can get one, build it right and have someone fly it. giving you a chance to fly it as well. hard to say if your ready for it or not just from a post on the net. just depens on your skills and how fast you learn.
Ultimates are probably the best bipes around, with very good habits and awesome performance.

I'd have to agree with everybody else.... Dealing with the Pucker Factor is a big deal when you jump up to the big planes... but overall once you get over the $1200+ that you're flying around you'll see flying the big planes is almost easier....easier to see, and not as quick as a 40 size... I say if you can afford it go for it!
