Has anyone bought or had some experience with some of these ARF`s that can be bought off Ebay? Iknow some of the components aren`t the best, but overall, how good are they flying? I brought a couple home, and havent had them in the air yet. (Cap 232,and a Pitts)

very open and large question
1)you have USA brands sold on ebay
2)YOu have a ton of China brands sold on ebay from
CMP , Willshobby , Flymodels , flyboy models , just too many to comment on unless you can show the brand
General rule for me is "benifit to risk ratio " I am a builder , so example , If i can get a nice Warbird in the 70" span range for $150 or less , then its totally worth it for me to bash it and start a rebuild .
If you dont like to tweek , bash or even reinforce your arf from Ebay , dont buy them , you will only risk your investment and the safty of you and people around you .
Most arfs need work and no-name imports may need twice the work , again it depends on the brand .
My Willshobby Seafury was purchased for $149 , worth every penny , same with my $99 Balsa Products 65" P40 , and my 70" Flymodels Hellcat ($129) .
I also got a 70" Jettect P47 for $129 and a FW190 71" from Jet Tech for $189 , all will undergo bashes to more scale but for me its worth basement hunting and they fly well (at leaste the ones I have built )

Back whenIstarted in this hobby,(Just getting back after a long run of dirt bike riding) ARF`s were pretty new..SoIto am a builder.Finishing a MIdwest AeroStar and ACE Bingo (60) but couldn`t help pickup on some of these..My Balsa USANorthStar is calling for some attention and Ineed to get to work on it also. The planes off Ebay are China made by the way..At least these are..
So in a sense I too am a builder..
Thanks for your reply..

NO problem buddy , no attitude from me , I love to build but with coaching two ice hockey teams , and traveling for work , I now spend my time bashing arfs . The value when your bargain shopping is fantastic .
I am bashing a CMP Fw190 in the warbirds section(feel free to look it up ) , have not posted in a while and I am working on it as we speak .
Summer was for flying , winter will be hockey and some time at night to bash my planes .
Welcome back and keep in touch

There was another thread on here a few weeks back about the Chinese ARF's on eBay. Ithink you can tell them by the twenty-something shipping on them. The consensus seemed to be that they were fairly decent for the money. Just the usual ARF reinforcements and they were good to go. Ithink if you search "Chinese", you should find the thread. I'm sure there was a reply lately on it. Might have been in the Beginners forum, if not this one.
I went and found it. 5 pages now.
