About a month-and-a-half ago I completed my UCD3D. Destroyed it 8 seconds into the maiden flight - reversed ailerons.

Next Monday morning. The phone rings; its one of my clubmates, Herbert.
H - "Shame about your UCD. What did you do with the remains?"
V - "Still have it at home; I haven't stripped my gear out of it yet."
H - "I think I can fix it. How much you want for it?"
V - "You're joking, right?"
So. I put all the remains into a box; he picked them up the next weekend.
Time passes.
Here's the result.

Herb rebuilt and recovered the damaged fuse and wings, strenghtened the landing gear mount and shortened the nose (he's running an OS 1.08 2C). He also did this in less time than it took for my replacement UCD kit to arrive!
Maiden flight was last weekend. It was a bit tail heavy as we were flying it without the cowl, but it still flew great.
Good job!

Aye Chiwawa!!!
That is one heck of a rebuild. I like how he added a third stripe to the rudder. Buy Herb a beer (or whatever his favorite beverage is) for me. The man deserve it.
My only question: how much does it weigh?

I don't know. It didn't seem to be any heavier than the original plane, though.
It flew "light", though. Like a butterfly
I think he's going to have it out this coming weekend. I'll throw a scale into my field kit and compare my replacement UCD with his rebuild
