Default UcanDo3d Servos?

Hello Gang, I have a 60 size UCANDO3D. and it calls for something better than regular servos. (50+ in.oz.) I was thinking about GWS so3tfx's that have 69 in.oz. torque. Then I was talking to to someone in the hobby shop and he said he was using regular servos in his with an Os 61 FX with no problems. what are your thoughts? TIA, Dan. ([email protected])

Well there is plenty of info on this model on RCU. You can get away with standard servos with the 61 engine on it, as your load on the surfaces is less. BUT, once you start really throwing the plane around, the loads wil be higher, and may give your servos a hard time.

In my opinion, you will need a high torque servo for the rudder. The others servos do not need to be high end types, but do make sure they are all ball bearing types.

Of course you can also ignore every single word I have just said, and check for yourself whats the best to use. Check out this site, there is a servo calculator there, which should be helpful to you.

Good luck

I'm running FMA 3601 coreless servos on all surfaces and a 3601M (metal-geared version) on rudder. .13 transit time and 108 oz-in. of torque.

Overkill? Perhaps.
I had them on hand already.

Hmmm....
I don't think there is really any overkill with this plane, after all its meant to be flown hard
