Just wondering if anyone has experience with this beast.. the 80" version... Don't need GSP feedback... need feedback on the airplane itself... I have a G62 that needs a new home

Hi , How do you like the GSP Katana 72, I just got one yesterday and I am getting ready to build it. What motor did you use ? Other than the limited instruction manual and the flimsy bottom hatch I really like the Katana. I just hope it flies as good as it looks.
Thanks.

I like mine, I have the white creek 72"Katana andf I have a brison 2.4 gas engine in it with a 20x8 prop and it is unlimited. The brison plus the mods I made brought the plane in at just under 13.5 lbs.
I have some pics of the mods in my gallery like full top hatch it is easy to do.
Drop me a email at [email protected] if you have any questions or post on here and I will try to keep up
Happy landings

Thanks for the info on the Katana your pictures are great ! I can't wait to get GSP Katana 72 in the air, my OS 160 should be in by Tuesday with any luck I can fly it next Sunday . I just started flying power planes and I love it. This will be my fourth power plane . I have a Lazy Bee , Thunder Tiger 46 profile and a U-Can -Do 46 and I love flying them all.
Thanks again.

Default katana

hi i have one as well (a GSP one)
flys good.....has a few issue`s....
the covering is not great..(cheap ARF so i cant really complain)
wheels work well. but will be worn out in no time.(especially rear)
wheel pants are sort of cheezy(easy to get hammered/garfed)
and getting wings off and on..takes some practice.....(the springs)
fuel tank should of been mounted closer to CG( i put in front for now like directions stated)

and your right. the instructions are..."vague" to say the least

you can balance it at 125mm.... from the leading edge where it tells you... will work fine... did for me

today i busted landing gear ( i am a dork sometimes) had a problem hearing my engine because of a ultimate bipe in the air and was going to slow...i fixed fuse... need new gear.. looks burly.. but i don't think its as strong as it looks..

mine is no power demon.. but is fun to fly
nice inverted.. nice knife edge..(does not want to roll out)
predictable..
canopy is tough.... i liked it.used canopy glue and a few screws... worked and looked awsome

working through small hole in bottom is strange.. i wished top came of like most
