RCGF 20cc and .60 Sized P-51s
Anyone know if the RCGF rear carb 20cc motor will fit into the cowl of either the H-9 blue nose P-51 or a World Models .60 size P-51? I'm looking for my first gasser here and I want it to be a war bird and preferably a P-51. I know this engine will go in the H-9 P-47 and Hellcat but those aren't my first choices.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Yes if you use a Pitts style muffler you should have no problem.
Make sure you use the muffler that sits behind the engine cylinder, not along side it.

Sorry no, I was looking at the H-9 blue nose at the show and measuring for motor fit.
I was discussing the possibility of putting in the RCGF 26cc in it with someone else. We were not sure about the 26cc but the 20cc looked like it would easily fit, especially with a rear mount muffler.

Hi
I've managed to mount a 20cc rear carb into the cowl of my P51. Had to cut the bottom a bit, but not much more than with Saito100. The exh is a home build wrap around invert.
Flew it yesterday for the first time, very impressed with power, swinging a 15x8 JXF wood - will try a 16x8 but clearance might become a problem.
Attached are some pics of how I mounted it.
