I recently purchased a plane that had full length CA strip hinges. Best way I can describe it. the hinges were CA type were mounted in a slot and ran the full length of the control surface. Very neat and sharp looking. also eliminates the need to seal hinge gaps obviously.
Does anyone know who makes these, were they came from, a web site. Thanks.

Ohio superstar makes GS ca hinges that are 1" x 36" available at tower. I have used them and they are good hinges. you would normally cut the strip to fit, but I dont see why you couldnt just use the whole strip if you were so inclined

Thanks for the tips. I found it at http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXBN49&P=7 I really liked the full length hinge, but cutting a slot straight that is 15-20" long must be extremely difficult.

Steve nice find as well. I would suggest investing in a Slot cutter like the offered by GP. Makes life ez in the shop when you want to cut your own slots for custom hinge jobs or when an ARF comes in that needs a little adjustment

I already have one. But it will be of no use when trying to cut a straight 15" long slot. The only way I can see to do it; is to draw a line along the hinge line, then try to cut it as straight as you can with an exacto blade. At least to get started. The GP hinge slot cutter is a great tool; but it is really hard to get this tool to make a straight intial cut even for a 3/4" hinge.
