We are new to the RC airplanes and are hoping to gain some advise and opinions regarding the what might be a good trainer plane or entry level plane.
Thanks in advance for any help!,

Join a club and get proper instruction. Your instructor will give you suggestions for a trainer.
You will never go wrong with a Sig LT-40 or a Hangar 9 Alpha 60 or an Alpha 40. Tower Hobbies also has their Trainer 40 Mk II. Hobbico Avistar is another good one. The NexSTAR 40 is award winning, too, but I never felt it flew well nor predictably.
I guess my personal favorite was the Hangar 9 Alpha 60.
Good luck and welcome to the RC hobby.

I can recommend the Sig LT-40 or Global RCM Trainer 40.
Also, drop in at the Beginners Forum here and be sure to hook up with an instructor. By Far the best way to get off to a good start.

I vote for the LT40 myself, IF you can find an ARF, the kits are available. at the top of this forum is a list of excellent trianers you might look at
