I like RCU and RCG because I love this hobby and have learned a lot from them. 48 years in the hobby and still more new stuff to learn and experience! Of course in reality if you go THAT far, you may as well just avoid foam ( and the extra work ) too... Sapac has a nice L-39 in Fiberglass of exactly the same size as the foamy... though it requires a bit more power... Wonderful plane BTW... |

Nah...
It's that a factory which produces foamies, can also produce other products and retool easily... ( foam is cheap to make & form ). Balsa, fiberglass or composite, Arf manufacturing is not highly automated and requires a lot of manual labor. If the market tanks, the ARF company has no other revenue stream and withers away. |

STOP ARF's! Gonna be honest here, Having purchased a few, I have had nothing but grief from them. Worse still is the new "throwaway" attitude, and ignorance towards building in general. I really like ARFs. I have just enough attention span to assemble an ARF. After a few weeks (making modifications, substituting parts, etc) of assembly I'm done, and I want to fly.
I'm not afraid to remove covering and repair or rework. I don't have enough space to leave a kit out on a table for months at a time without something getting lost or damaged. I respect and appreciate kits, but I truly enjoy a quality ARF. Now, Nascar... I'm not a fan (but I don't hate it either) but if we could get those boys to run on some kind of renewable fuel, it could have a pretty major impact on our environment and economy. And rap? Well, nothing good to say there.[:'(] |

Rap ain't music, it's like listening to some evil ba$tard torturing a cat. Foam, on the other hand, serves several good uses, but making an airplane out of it isn't one of them...
