Edge 60/90

Hi!

I'm searching for an ARF Edge in 60/90 size. I'm planning to use a YS 110 FZ engine in it.
The only model I have found so far is from Aeroworks. After reading the threads about it, I have decided to look for something else (it is a bit heavy, and too expensive).

Does anybody know of any alternatives?

Natrajk,

I have to say that the VectorFlight experience has been great so far. I ordered mine (Edge 540 66") yesterday and talked with them alot via email before deciding to buy. They answer email questions very quickly and are very responsive.

Cootertwo who posted in this thread has a website with a ton of pics of his Edge. Everything I have heard and read about the planes is good so far. Take a look and good luck.

John

Check out the Seagull Edge. At only $175, it's the steal of the bunch...

Get a yellow aircraft edge. www.yellowaircraft.com I have the 60 size and it is awesome. came in at 7# 3oz. with a .91 fx unlimited vertical. will fly like a pattern plane on low rates and will 3-d on high. you will love this plane I promise,

Steve

Thanks for all the replies!
Which of these models perform 3d well?

Ps! Thanks for the great pictures Cootertwo and f2racer.
Your planes look great!

I also like the model from Yellow Aicraft except that the color schema is a bit to complicated for my taste ( would be ruined after repairs)

I personally haven't 3D-ed my Seagull Edge yet. It came out to about 7 and 1/2 lbs with an MVVS 91 up front and flies pretty smooth. It also flies reasonably slow compared to other 60/90 sized aerobats that I've seen flying at my club. It's got generous sized control surfaces out back (but the ailerons are surprisingly small). I've only got 10 flights on it to date, and the elevator seems pretty sensitive and it will snap on full elevator defection even on low rates. I'm still getting comfortable with the model. I've got the battery currently in the stock location, so the plane may be a hair nose heavy, I plan on moving battery back in the fuse to see if I can cure the sensitive elevator syndrome before I try anything real wild. There's another thread where folks say that the Seagull 3D's pretty well.

BTW, I'm a reasonably proficient and have several Morris profile planes in my hanger, but I'm beginning to think that 3D-ing a more scale model (this "smaller" size at least, I've also heard that larger scale aerobats are easier to 3D) is a pretty different animal...

I would personally look at getting one of the Vector Flight models. I have heard good things about the planes and the excellent cusotmer service from the company.
