RE: what ultra stick mods to do
Add a piece of 1/2 triangle stock to the bottom side of the wing hold down plate if it doesn't already have one. This was a sore point on one that i soald to someone else.
Switch to 4/40 hardware throughout the kit. Use pinned hinges instead of ca hinges. That's about all you need to do to upgrade this kit to top notch. |
RE: what ultra stick mods to do
yes it dos not have any reinforcement on the wing hold down. its just edge glued. with the weakest glue i have ever seen. maybe mine was just not stuck good. but i saw the wing hold down had very little glue and pulled on it . it pulled loose with my hand i dont know if the wing would have enough pull to pull it out or not. but when it pulled out i got dizzy. it is now in plane with 2 our epoxy with it pined in the sides. i am useing carbon fiber push rods from central hobbies with the 440 ends. i'm just not sure what to do on the rudder and elevator for push rods. dos any body have it with the satio 180 to give me what tail weight your putting in it. can i use the great plane ca hinges cut 1 inch square in place of the pined hinges. i hate those type of hinges. thanks:D
