Modeltech Extra 300L assembly help, Control arm?
I am putting together a Modeltech extra 300L ARF and I have a question about the control arms that mount the flaps. I have 2 control arms that are substantially larger than the others. Do these go on the ailerons, elevator or rudder control surface?

I built one these a few months ago. I'm at work right now. If you can wait until tonight, I'll go look at mine and get back to you here.
BTW, do you mean the Magic Extra 300L or the Extra 300? Joe |

You mean the control horns ... I guess ... okay ... the ones for the rudder are larger and also the same, you attach them as a pair. Hence, 2 horns on one control flap.
The rest (ailerons and elevators) are a combination of one horn and one square backing plate. Remember the small nuts are for the rudder control horns! |

BTW Chris, run the control rods first and see where they line up. Then attach the horns. This worked great on mine. No binding. You're going to love this plane. Joe |

The one thing about this plane is that the fuselage is fragile. I had a good time flying mine over the last couple of days, handles nice but you will need to add some down thrust, I added 2 small washers (like those used for the under carriage) to the top of the engine mount.

I'll check my thrust the next time I'm out flying, thanks. Joe |
