I am new to flying planes and i am looking at the planes P-51, Spitfire, and P-40. Which is the better plane for skill Wise, since I just started

RE: P-51

I would have to say in the .40 to .60 size the P-47 is the best to fly, most of the P-51s and Spitfires are heavy and have high wing loading. The P-40 might be ok, I would get some taildragger stick time first on some type of aerobatic plane, most must learn to walk before the run, be patient young Jedi :)

RE: P-51

How long have you been flying your trainer? Have you ever flown a low wing tail dragger before? If you have never flown a low wing tail dragger, you might want to pick one up to practice for at least a couple of months before jumping into warbirds. When you are proficient at taking off, flying, and landing a low wing sport plane, then it's time to take a look at a P-51, Spitfire, or P-40.
