Dave Patrick Edge 540 Rudder throw problem

1 Attachment(s)
All,

I have the smaller version of the edge and have run into an issue. When my elevator is in a nuetral position. I can only get 1 1/4 inches of rudder throw before the rudder contacts the elevator. Recommended low rates are 1 1/2 inches with 3d being 2 1/2 inches. Obviously i am well short of those num, bers. Has anyone else had this problem. i have included pics for reference

The fin is attached to the fuse from the factory. I will send it back before I start sanding.... Anyone seen this problem

Yes, had the same problem. I had done a dry assembly and noticed it and found that I had the rudder into the vert. stab. too far and not far enough on the left elev. I was able to get around it.

binghamjd:

I have the same problem on mine but I've got mine figured out. check the horz stab and make sure it's completely flush to the side of the fuse. on mine the front rod needed to be bent slightly to make the fit right. once everything fits tight there is plenty of room for travel. let me know if this explanation is not clear enough and I'll try again.
