4*60 same size as ALPHA 40?

I just got my 4*60 and its the exact same size as my alpha 40 :/ . I was hoping for the 60 to be a bit bigger ;) :(

You'll like flying the 4* trust me. I have flown the 4* (a friend's) and now I'm assembling the ARF. It flies great and will do anything you want to do. Good luck with yours.

Ok, but the 4*40 must be really small?

A few guys at my club have had 4* 40's and the consensus is that they don't fly nearly as well as the 60 size. Most smaller planes don't fly as good as the larger sized version.

You would think so, but it really isn't. The 120 size isn't that much bigger than the 60, either. Something like 3/4" wider tail chord, maybe 2 inches bigger on tail span. You can get the wing specs for these planes on the Tower site.

That four star 60 may not be bigger than your alpha, but it's about 3 pounds heavier and about 30 mph faster. Keep the rates low for the first few flights and enjoy! I just built my second, it's the plane that always makes the trip to the field!

What were you planning for an engine? If you can swing it $$, a .91 four stroke is a nice match. A 75 two stroker does a good job too.
