RE: BEWARE OF PHOENIX MODELS!
I have a Phoenix Dolphin and it is my faviorate plane now for 3 years. It have a OS FS 70 with a 12X7 prop. I am enjoying it more than my H9 Ultra Stick with a 46AX

RE: BEWARE OF PHOENIX MODELS!
ORIGINAL: hdeen I must also put my 2 cents and say Phoenix arf's are great value for the price. I have bought and crashed many but I have always been able to rebuild phoenix kits and keep going (for lil bit longer). I also had a Dolphin and it was great fun till one day when I was loading it into my RAV4 a stong gust of wind smashed the door onto my plane. Never buy a car with a side opening 5th door. They are not rc plane friendly. - Wow! Sorry to hear about the demise or damage to your model. I once bought a used pickup truck with a fiberglass cap over the bed. The hydraulic doohickeys that hold the cap's door up were shot and would make you think they were going to hold, but would suddenly let the door come crashing down. It never killed an airplane of mine, but it took its toll on the wife's and my noggins. I owned it for six years, but never got around to replacing the doohickeys. I once fell down a flight of steep basement steps while holding my Phaeton Biplane (Balsa USA). All during the fall I managed to keep the biplane from being damaged. I was lucky that day as I was wearing a heavy winter coat. That coat saved me a lot of personal damage. Not a scratch on the Phaeton. Durned leather sole slick bottomed shoes! 8>) Ed Cregger |
