Another question I have is, whatever happened to the Vmar 13ft Super Cub? I have reguarly checked the website for over a year to see if this thing has ever been done, and I still have never seen a photo of one or heard if they have ever been finished.

RE: VMAR Improving?

kelsey thanks for taking the time to answer these post . Like I siad , I have interest in the new prop planes, I am hoping to see some guys on RCU report in on what they find and feel about the new releases .I though the RCU review was ok with the exception of the mislainged fin installation . I cant nail you for that considering that many arf tail and fin areas seem to be off .

I know its hard to dig yourself out of a bad reputation and I hope that this is a start with the new planes

ORIGINAL: DMehalko(DM)

I saw one at the field and it didnt that bad, i was expecting much worse, is this a reformed VMAR or are they not as bad as everyone says?

I wouldn't think of buying a VMAR but they really didnt look that bad.

After some good discussion here............the answer to your question IMO is yes! It does seem that Vmar are trying to improve, and have improved in certain areas. I was really shocked to see Kelsey come in a put up a good defense regarding Vmar Planes, and I think he done a good job clearing up a few issues. The simple fact alone that a Manufacturer has the guts to come into a heated thread about there product, and post rebuttals shows guts, and a good step towards developing good relations with past customers, and potential new customers. I still believe there are some issues that people have with vmar, but it does seem that list of complaints is dwindling down, and even my complaint with the old style tires has been resolved by Vmars new line of wheels which I am sure are a heck of a lot better than what they had before. I also had issues with the wood they used, but it seems they are doing away or have done away with that old style wood, and have started using Balsa and Ply which is a huge step in the right direction IMO. Now if they can just make sure the Planes are assembled good, and using good glues this will also be a huge plus. IMO the covering looks great on the Vmar Planes, but it has a real bad tendency to wrinkle up bad in the sun. So if they could figure out a way to make their covering more tolerant to heat, and more user friendly to heat guns and irons, then I think the Black Cloud will be lifted from them and they will have found there way out ................. Last but not least, they to remember that if you always treat a customer right, and fair that you will probally keep that customer for life, and won't always have to be looking for new ones within a small hobby.
