RE: SeaGull Decathlon
My preferance is for the 4 stroke for the Decathlon... They give a much better sound to the project... Not only that, they put out a lot of torque which is needed to pull this big 8 pound plane around... Just one opinion...

RE: SeaGull Decathlon
Well, I can honestly say that this plane with an OS 70 is one of the best combos of all the planes I have reviewed.

RE: SeaGull Decathlon
Thanks everyone for the feedback. Four stroke it is, or will be. I needed a good reason for another engine. :D Guess the K&B is going to have to stay in the box till I find time to build the GP F-15, or find a different ARF I can't live without.
Went to the LHS on Thursday to buy the Decathlon I knew he had. Unfortunately, "had" was the right word, he sold it before I got there. Oh well, so much for the pre-Christmas ARF. Guess it's going to be a pre-birthday ARF instead. He's going to order a couple more and will let me know when they come in. He's also got an OS 70 set aside for me. Meanwhile I've decided to get started covering the plane I started building in early Sept. Decided to get the wife's input on color choices. What a mistake, took 2 hours and I still ended up changing it after she went to sleep. Have to remember to not ask next time, what was I thinking? Hope to have the plane covered before the next trip to the field. |
