Depends! are you new to RC planes? if you're not, I would not even think of getting it up never mind putting a larger motor then the specs. If you are experienced flyer I don't know what size? too big would be nose heavy, I you never had any flight time , it's not the plane to start with, you should start with a trainer first, otherwise you may have to pick up the pieces.

I am also in the middle of building a Midget Mustang. Beautifully made arf. I'm putting a Saito 100 on the nose. Should be plenty fast.

Saw one fly with an MVVS91 over the weekend ... its was fast enough but if you really want speed then go for a cheap TT120 turning a 12x8 or 12x10 prop! But this will make the plane nose heavy for sure. The one I saw was just right with the MVVS91. Seeing her fly I would say she handles nice but landing and take offs are a pain, she will tend to tip over, you will need to bend the UC farther forward if you have fixed landing gear.

I fly mine with an OS 1.08 with std muffler. I have 3 servos in the tail and the c.g. is perfect. It's got about 20 flights in it now with a 14x8 prop, will try a 14x10 when it's nicely run-in. Speed? Seems fast for the first few flights, but you'll get used to it and want some more. Makes a beautiful sound on dives with this prop, kinda like a composite sailplane.

It handles real well both in the air and on the ground - you'll be surprised, a very easy plane to land. if you're taking off grass or soft/uneven ground, don;t bother with the wheels pants unless you replace the L/G wires - they're way too soft. My tail wheel wire broke as well.

Hope this helps.

I am also running a OS 1.08 in mine with a pitts style underneath. I changed things around when I recovered it. I also run dual servos for the elevators. Nice plane

I maidened my Midget Mustang yesterday and it is a sweet flying plane. The Saito 100 really pulls it well. It took off in just a few feet, smooth as can be. Lands like a dream, although quick. Had 4 flights and I can't wait to take it out again.

FYI... Here's a picture of the real Midget Mustang that the World Models white Midget Mustang was modeled after. I started building it in 1987, and test flew it in 1990. I still own and fly it today (flying it to the Airshow in Oshkosh tomorrow). World Models gave me one of the models a few years ago. I can fly my Nextstar OK, but I'm nowhere near good enough to fly the RC Midget Mustang yet.
