Looking for a .46 - .60 sized Yak
Anybody know of someone who makes a .46 - .60 size Yak-54 ARF?
|
RE: Looking for a .46 - .60 sized Yak
I would like to know to. I have a saito .82 and a big desire for a yak 54 .....

RE: Looking for a .46 - .60 sized Yak
I did a search in the review section here on RCU.
Found that Ultra has a 50 size Yak 54; sells for $140 but they are out of stock according to their website. http://www.ultra-rc.com/yak50/index.htm |
RE: Looking for a .46 - .60 sized Yak
The reviews I've read aren't very good on that one either :(
It's funny how the giant scale world is filled with Yaks but below like 78" wingspan Yaks are almost non-existant. |
RE: Looking for a .46 - .60 sized Yak
I found an OMP profile yak 54. Thats about all I could find. Give it a couple months, with the boom in yaks right now someone has got to come out with one.

Looks like you can get the CMP/Ultra-RC 50 size on Ebay for pretty cheap.

RE: Looking for a .46 - .60 sized Yak
Funny that the out-of-stock one has it's price reduced. Guess they want to not sell it in greater volume.

RE: Looking for a .46 - .60 sized Yak
It was their winter sale. Guess the price will SPRING up now.

I would like to know too. I got a FLITON EXTRA and its amazing but I would like to try a yak that size.

Shakes where did you see a review, or did you get that first hand from someone at the field?
The threads I read on RCU say it's a good flyer if you keep the speed up and don't try aggressive manuevers. Basically what I read is it's a good aerobatic plane but not a 3D plane. |

Here's a .40 sized built super light for electric power. Got one myself. They are sold out everywhere though for a few weeks[&o] http://aircraft-world.com/default.asp Retails for $189 ..... Putting a slime pump in it would be a bad idea.

The HYPERION YAK-54 mentioned above is a good match for Saito 82 for size and weight, except that vibrator will probably shake the airplane apart. I had that motor, and it has the most vibration-per-displacement I've ever witnessed.

RE: Looking for a .46 - .60 sized Yak
Would a small 2 stroke work on this plane. Say a .46 or .50 I really like this plane and it is a 40 sized plane. They say the flying wieght of this plane is 84 oz. with electric stuff. I think you could prolly get close to that with a .46

The CMPro yak is heavy and NOT for 3d BUT... keep the throws small and it's a great scale flying plane. I like mine so much I bought a second one just to have a spare. Put a little extra glass around the LG inside or the fuse will crack on the bottom just behind the gear.
