Monocoupe Flying Wires - Help

Hello All,

I'm building a Kangke 1/4 scale Monocoupe, and I just got to the part in the instructions where it says to install the flying wires on the tail. Having only built smaller trainer type planes before, none of which included flying wires, the instructions say this as if it's a skill I should already have, and offer no further clue as to what to use to make them out of or how to attach them. I have already installed the flying wire brackets, and the kit does include some 1/32 inch steel cable but that appears to be for the rudder cables. Help, please?

Thanks,
Charlie

I have the WACO bipe by them, it uses solid wires with clevis' for the tails flying wires. The stab and rudder a probably predrilled then covered over, check for the holes. If it's like the bipe you should hace little metal tabs with two holes in them, you put a bolt through the big hole in the tab, through the stab or vertical fin, then through another tab, you lock tight a nut on there. once you get the tabs on the stabs and vertical fin you put the bracing 'wire' between them.

Did they include the hardware?

And if they did, what exactly did they include?

THe hardware for these tailwires should consist of 8 threaded steel clevices and four steel rods with threads on the ends. You attach the brackets as you already did, then measure and cut the rods so that they are the proper length to go from one bracket to the next with the threaded steel clevice clamping on to each bracket. I can e-mail you pictures if you want. Just PM me your e-mail address.

if you dont mind spending a few extra dollars check out www.seacommander.com. they will custom make a scale set of aerodynamically correct flying wires all you need do is send them the correct measurements.
