Nice. A buddy of mine just finished his too. He's installing an OS .50 on his. Should rock n roll with that engine.

Good luck with yours,,,,,

Looks great ! I have read so much about this plane, and all of it good. Did those wheel pants come with the kit ? I like the look it adds to the plane. That cockpit just begs for a pilot [8D]

Yeah, do the ARF's come with the wheelpants?

I thought something looked different. I had a 4* 60 that I flew for a few years. Great plane.

The only thing I would change... get it in the air.

Oh, what's different... the stars are on upside down. But it's yours so it doesn't matter.

Have fun with it.

Beef up the fuse right behind the wing area a bit. The like to break there with even one hard landing. If yours came with metal landing gear screws, go with 1/4-20 nylon bolts. I tapped threads for that right into the wood block. (made it a little thicker on the inside though)

I maxed out the throw on rudder and elevator on mine, and it will do awsome flat spins now! It will hover nicely and has absolutely unlimited vertical with an APC 12x4 prop/magnum .46 engine.

thanks, the arf does come with wheel pants they are very easy to install to.

I fly off of grass so I put slightly larger wheels on, also to clear the 12" prop. Don't know if the pants would fit..... less drag with the pants though I guess.

Stunner, I just finished putting together the same 4*. My four year old son just had to find the pilot for me to put in it and it is a yellow lad stuffed dog, it looks like our real lab so it worked out fine.
I am planning on putting it in the air this Sunday for the first time so I'll let you know how it went. Also I put the O.S.46 in mine.

Thanks stunner. Now I wonder, does Sig make a 60 size Four Star arf wheelpant?

If you want to have some fun with your 4*, max out the throws on high rates, so don't make the hinge lines too tight. I use lots of expo with them maxed out, and the plane will snap out of loops, etc. with all that throw at times. It will do awsome flat spins and anything else you want to throw at it though!

wow, i think im goign to keep the throws down for teh first couple of flights but then i will do the same as u did. Is their any bad flight characteristcs about this plane like floats on landings, has aproblem with wind,etc...

I've had the 40 sized (with a magnum 61 4 stroke) and flown a few of the 60 sized with various engines and now I'm flying the 120 sized with a 25 year old OS 120 4stroke/

This plane has no bad habits and needs nothing to make it "better" in flight. Sure they could look a little prettier but the more I fly mine the more I love it just the way it is. The 120 I got second hand and I assume it's over 10 years old. I have a 40 kit still in the box that when the time is right I will build.

You've got a great airplane there and something that will follow up your next star; I recommend that everyone have one to kick around.

Stunner, I do not know if you got your 4* in the air as of yet, but I did fly mine for the first time today. I also have just went from the nexstar to this 4*. All I can say is you are going to be upset that you have not made the change to the 4* before now.
I just love this plane and I do think it is also a great plane to fly. You will be very happy with it and the nexstar will probably set around for some time now.

I second that. The 4* can be a *****cat just like a trainer (but better), or it can go right into "aerobatic mode"! Inverted flight is great also.
