You will be happy wiyh the Sundancer I hope......Im on my second one. First one got shot down.....2 on channel 15 don"t work...I guess thats why we pin out.....Tried a few different props. A 22-10 Zinger will fly it ok but I think to much flex. Switched to 22-10 BIELA and the Sundancer will hover..Also running as you are First Place 3.2. I took the stack off the carb to make the coul fit and the engine runs great that way...No hole in the coul. Have fun ...I"m flying mine in the morning for the first time this year.

FYI, not all engines need a velocity stack, their used to keep raw fuel from being expelled from the carb on the compression stroke.

One example is my H9-PT-19 with a G-23. Without the stack there would be raw fuel all down the right side of the fuse after a flight and with the stack in place the fuse was dry.

Did you ever maiden your Sundancer? I ordered one today and I am going to put a 46cc Brillelli EI on it. We have several Pitts at our club, so I wanted something different. I think I made a good choice.

I have ordered my Sundancer and now I am planning for the engine. I plan on using a Brillelli 46cc EI,but I need the distance from the fire wall to the back of the prop so I can plan on the mounting method. If anyone can please help with this I would greatly appreciate it.

:DI got to maiden the sundancer last sunday, it flew perfectly, no bad habits, will be even better when the engine gets more time on it, i did have to do a mix for it to knife edge. flew hands off with 2 clicks of rt aileron and 3 clicks of up elevator, I am very pleased with how easy this plane is to fly.

I had my Sun Dancer out yesterday and I'm still having a problem with it. I wonder if you have experienced it, with relatively hard up elevator, on low rates half stick movement, the plane does a violent roll to the right, sort of a tip stall. I've checked a lot of things over and haven't found the answer yet. It's almost like the elevators aren't tracking evenly, but I haven't had a chance to check them through their full range of motion, just their end settings.

It did have a deadstick yesterday, on of all things, a G62. My mistake, had the idle too low and went high to do a spin. It died in the spin, talk about a heart flutter. Had to do a couple of circles to loose altitude and land with a 10mph tail wind. Fortunately, we fly in the middle of a sod farm.

Congratulations on the deadstick recovery. I've done them many times, but on new aircraft it is always traumatic. I am considering this model and looking at the G62 for power. However, I hate having to butcher cowls to squeeze in the powerplants. I can't bring myself to spend that much money for a FPE or Desert aircraft engines, but the G62 doesn't appear unreasonable in price. What mods did you have to make to the cowl, if any, to fit a G62 in and what did you have to do to balace the aircraft? If you wouldn't mind, please.

I originally had a G45 on the plane, but put the G62 in it this spring. The cowl with the G62 is a little ugly because I just modified the cowl from the G45 so the holes are a lot bigger. I will be replacing it shortly. The picture of the plane outside shows the G45 with a loud muffler that was replaced with the stock Zenoah muffler, but the picture will give you the idea. The picture with the cowl off is the G45 installation.

I picked the G62 off Ebay and had electronic ignition added to it by RCIGN1. Runs great. There is a 6v receiver battery in the tail with 3/4oz of weight, and flies with very little down elevator inverted. The battery location is the only thing I did to accomodate the engine.

Well, the pictures finally came through. Regarding the G62, there is a dealer selling new ones for $265, without an expensive prop hub. RCIGN1 converted mine to EI for $175 and his cost includes his prop hub. The engine lost 11oz, and I think he has found ways to make them even lighter.
