Thanks, I will check into that CF spnner, they do look cool, and as long as he is willing to cut it out, no problem. I will see how much they cost first though.

Has anyone used monofilament fishing line for pull-pull rudder on this plane or a plane of this size? I was thinking of trying some 50 lb monofilament line, and just curious if it would stretch too much, or if there is some issue that I don't see at the moment.

I looked with interest at the first photo of your fuel tank setup. I note you are using just 2 tubes. One appears to go straigt down. Is this the vent and if so, does it just exit the bottom of the airplane. I assume the "T" fitting is in the supply line, one side going to a fuel dot and the second to the carb. If this is correct, do you have any trouble fueling and de-fueling, having an open end at the carb?

I've got a spinner from Pierre too. It's for my edge. It is REALLY nice and VERY light!! Price is awesome too!

I can't see the ZNLines being too much better...and they are double the price!

Hi pceagon,

You are correct on where the lines go. This works just fine on a diaphram pump carb like on small gas engines. The needle valve will not unseat with the pressure you are fueling with so there should never be a problem using this method on this type of carb. The fuel will always go to the tank and not leak at the carb.

Hi Bill!

What do you think about Diablo's post about air possibly getting in through the fill line on the T? I hadn't thought of that... and certainly haven't experienced any trouble like that... but he has me re-thinking things.

Hey Chris, your CF prop and spinner look great. What size is that 3-blade?

I've owned a couple of ZNLine spinners in 4.5 and 5.5 sizes. They were excellent spinners, but they didn't look any better than Pierre's. They appear to be built the same way, with the same manufacturing principals and mounting technique. Chris can you give us a total weight with backplate?

Do Pierre's mounting holes for the spinner come pre-drilled? It was a pain to drill the ZNLine and it needed to be very precise or the holes would enlarge and eventually ruin the spinner.

Make sure and locktite the mounting screws!

Hi JB,

I see no more likelihood of air getting in the tee than in any other connection. You are increasing the odds of installing one incorrectly because there are three more connection points, but I've never had a proplem and I've been doing it for years. I always safety wire all my fuel lines on and have never had a leak...except when I accidentally used a plastic tee when I thought it was nylon. :rolleyes: It lasted all of a couple of hours before disintegrating from the gas. Luckily I had test run it at home and it had already fallen apart before I tried to fly.

BTW, where's Diablo's post? I couldn't find it.

It is a Fuchs 20x10.

I haven't weighed mine but Owen Maupin from the GSAL list weighed his and it is 2.5 oz. complete. He has the long style. Mine is the normal one.

The CF cone was already mounted to the backplate. Is this what you mean?

I figured the screws would need some locktite.

That's really light. I think it's about 1 oz lighter than my 3.5" tru-turn with lightened backplate.

Yes, and that's great. It was a real pain to drill the ZNLine spinner to mount it. Pierre's spinners sound like a great value.

Has anyone owned one of his fiberglass planes? I am curious how they fly and what they look like in the box when delivered. I want to know how much work it is to put one together.

If you look at the ZNLine spinners on a European site you'll see they're all even metric dimensions.

I think I will purchase one of those CF spinners. Which size is suitable for a 22x8 or 24x8 menz prop, the 3.5 or 4?

Has anyone tried putting the rudder servo at the tail of the 330? If so, where did you mount it and how did it work out?
I am curious about all the possibilities here. Any pics would be great.

I do see on the Nelson website those hex aluminum pieces with the small threaded rod that goes in for pull-pull. I see that you just fold the wire over inside the hex piece, I don't see how this can keep the wire from coming through. Anyone care to enlighten me?

On the performance side, my 330 with a Taurus 3.2 up front, do you think it will be able to peform an inverted flat spin with the engine weight up front?

These sullivan control horns that are screwed in with the #2 size screws, has anyone had any issues of these becoming weak over several flights? Or do they seem to work well under high stress conditions?

I have already done the elevators with the sullivans, but I just now am thinking about how well it will hold with those 4 screws. I hope the wood is strong enough.
