Hanger 9 T-34
 

Hello to all I have just purchased the new Hanger 9 T-34, and I am wondering if how the plane flies and does the ARF kit go together easy.

I had the original version and liked it a lot except fpr the fact it didn't like to fly slow. Any slow speed high bank turn and it would snap out. Landings had to be a bit hot, with speed until just above the runway. Don't remember any problem with the quality or assembly. I had fun with it, but wouldn't get another one, just not my type of flying plane. After all it COULDN'T be my piloting skills.....:)

I have one of the original H9 T-34s and like it very much. It flies great and is very responsive. I agree with drone pilot that this plane needs speed on landing. My Mentor has an OS-50SX (2-stroke) engine and Hobbico mechanical retracts. The retracts and wire struts have given me a bit of trouble, but then that could be a result of my landings.

By the way, the markings on the new red and white T-34 (the "E" on the vertical stab) represent aircraft assigned to Commander Training Air Wing Five, based at Naval Air Station Whiting Field, near Milton, FL.

I completed the assembly of the new T-34 a couple of days ago - the kit went together very well and all the parts fit was first class. This kit had the black (walkway) trim on both sides of the wing and this should be removed from the bottom before assembly if your kit came this way. The wing assembly and retract installation was relatively easy (reminded me why I like air retracts) other than the fine tuning and wire bending to get the retracts to lock on each end and move easily.
I installed the Evolution 52 in this one and other than the extra hole in the cowl for the front of the muffler I really liked being able to use the stock muffler and not add another $40 for a pitts.
Balance was easy and done with the battery located just behind the servos.
The wind should be down tomorrow - I'll let you know how she flys.

This is a training plane, and with a cadet and instructor on board, this would look real good in the air!

Hanger 9 does make some sweet looking Scale Planes. I can hardly wait for some more new releases! I've been E-mailing Hanger 9 and the stated that they are going to make some Axis Planes in the near future. They are very tight lipped when it comes to saying what they're going to release next.

Four two flights on Sunday and two today - it flys like it's on rails - lands a little fast compaired to most arfs, but like a trainer compaired to a giant scale warbird. Couldn't find any bad habits - gear needed to be adjusted a couple of times due to one loose screw and a broken EZ link keeper.

how does it set up for a landing is it a little hot or will it idle on in. I had a world modelds version with a enya 50 on it it was better than a trainer it would settle in at an idle on approach and land really nice. I had an saito 56 laying around so I decided to put that on the hanger 9 T-34 i hope it will be enough engine.

Jon - It's not a floater, but actually very much like the full scale without flaps. I kept the speed up a little on final and used that speed during the flare to make sure the nose wheel didn't touch first (old habbit). It's a very nice flying airplane and as long as you're not looking at the bottom of the wing on final you're gonna like it. The Saito should fly it very well, the 52 two stroke is a lot of motor for this light weight plane - really does good high speed low passes though.

Only mine will have to have electrons in it rather than nitro.. :D

Try again I have installed scale flaps on my T-43 and it was very easy looks great too will be interesting to see waht landing performance is like.

Navy, could you post some pics and detail how you did the flaps. I'm sure a lot of the guys would like to add them, as would I. TIA!

Where did you get the improved graphics ie. Navy and lettering?
