Hey folks,

Thinking about getting the Wingspan bomb bay and top turret for my TF B-25 but have some questions for any of you that have them. I tried to look up the instructions on Wingspan's site but keep getting their Nav lights instructions.

I only have one channel left on my radio (JR 9303 and AR9000 receiver). I understand you can run the bomb bay opening and bomb release on one channel but I'm guessing the TT would take another channel. I definitenly want the BB so I could go without the TT.

For those that have the BB, how many bombs did you get? Looks like you could either do 4 or 6. Will 6 fit in there? Anything special I need to know about the BB or do the instructions pretty much cover it? Also, does it ever go on sale?:)

I maidened my B-25 last week... pretty awesome!!! Want to make it functional with bomb drops! Sounds like a Winter project. ;)

Ken,

Was the build thread for the bomb bay system ever completed?  I can't find it.  The information above is excellent and I would really like to see how the set up of the door control mechanism went.

Nope, the bomb bay installation part was never completed by Ken. I talked to him at Warbirds Over the Rockies and response was that he had some unspecified problem. Not sure if it was in the installation or the bomb release mechanism........so, my kit is still in da baggies!! and not the plane!!

Very disappointing as this started out as an excellent thread and one of the main points of these things is to expose issues and prevent others repeating any errors. When there is a problem then folks usually band together pretty quickly to come up with a solution. This also provides valuable feedback to help with product improvement.

Wingspan Models ought to be pretty ticked about such an abrupt stop for an 'unspecified issue' as it suggests a major problem. That is not true. There have been many successful installations, several of which are noted in the TF B-25 build & tips thread on RCU. I am given to understand that RCKen encountered an issue with an early version of the bomb release pylon that has been resolved. Also, Wingspan has a workaround available for the early version if you contact them.

If I were you I'd open 'da baggies' and have some fun.
