RE: New KMP PC-21
DJ which spinner are you running there?? My one is being fast tracked right now... I will have a Moki 2.1 powering my PC-21 for closer to real "jet like" performance I hope :D

RE: New KMP PC-21
That's a true turn, just tell them what you got and they'll make it for you. It's dead on true. I try to fly mine when no one is around. The guys are always taking the box from me. It's a great flyer.

RE: New KMP PC-21
that ZDZ40 fits real nice. I am wondering if a Syssa 30 or DLE30 would fit all in cowl? Nice work

Mirco,
Where did you get your 5-blade spinner from? I love that spinner with the Vario Prop. Please share a link where I can buy it. I'm assuming you are using the 12C hub with an 8mm collet, right? Many thanks! Todd |
RE: New KMP PC-21
Todd
The spinner ist selfmaid by someone out of the www.warbirdforum.de. He produced only 3 Spinner. You may have a look to this forum. There are a lot of pics but it is in german. http://www.warbirdforum.de/forum/thr...d66b01834ee7e8 regards Mirco |
RE: New KMP PC-21
ok FINALLY ordered mine. Mine will take all winter to finish as I am getting all the needed pieces for it slowly.
I will also order the retracts at the end of the month. I am still contemplating servos for this beast and am not sure which ones to get, any suggestions? I will also consider the DLE-30 gas engine for this airplane, the goal is to have a nice flying airplane without chopping up the cowl too much matt |
RE: New KMP PC-21
This is a beautiful plane and I plan to purchase one soon. Does anyone have photos of the inside of the fuse? I would love to see how the electric guys placed their batteries.
Isn't this kit now sold by ESM? It had been out of my price range but it now seems far more reasonable and the retracts are cheaper too, looks like a good deal. |
RE: New KMP PC-21
ROB,
Sure.... I will get some photos put here of how the arf comes out of the box... we do have them ready to ship http://www.vqwarbirds.com/products/a...t/ESMPC21.html -TOMAS VQ WARBIRDS "KEEP 'EM FLYING" |

Hi
I did not managed to build an removable canopy yet. So I have to remove the wing each time to exchange the 11S akku. regards Mirco |
RE: New KMP PC-21
got mine yesterday and I had no clue how BIG this airplane is. This is going to be fun now! I am going through servos to figure out which ones will work best, maybe Hitec 5625's?
I am still stuck on engine choice, dont want glow if I can help it as my Saito 180 is reserved for my Stuka this winter. :D The ZDZ40 looks like a nice fit and that has me wondering if the DL30 will fit even better under the hood? anyone have any updates on theirs? matt |
RE: New KMP PC-21
Dam this plane is butt ugly, looks like it it was deformed in a microwave

Amen to that SunShine. Keep the trolls in their caves or under bridges.

RE: New KMP PC-21
I think I am going to pull the trigger on this too but am also stuck on the engine. I would want to find something that would fit in the cowl, anyone have any ideas? Perhaps I should just go electric but those batteries will cost a ton.

RE: New KMP PC-21
I went for an electric setup.
In my opiniion, a turboprop with a glow motor is like simmulcast TV. The picture and the sound just does not come together. I cannot afford a turbo prop turbine so I had to cross over to the electric side....... It is peacefull and quiet here........:) My choice was beteween a Axi 5345 or a Scorpion 5545 with a Spin 99 ESC on a 12 cell 5000 mA. Due to budget constraints I decided on the Scorpion. i got my motor and ESC on Saturday. The LHS is busy putting a PC21 together for another client with the Axi 5345. I will investigate about a sound system for a turbo prop when I get everything in and see what the weitht looks like. A soundsystem might be a more usefull way of balancing the plane than lead. The PC 21 looks fast and ot should perform likewise. Cheers Thaba Raptor |
RE: New KMP PC-21
I hear you on the sound issue but in terms of ease of use and not breaking the bank on an electric setup I will go with the weed eater sound of a small gasser. The quandary remains which one. The ZDZ40 looks like a great match but I would like to try to keep the cowl from getting to chopped up. I will look at the Syssa 30SHP. I have one on order for my 120 sized CAP 232 and will see if it will work for this bird

ORIGINAL: SunShyne nice work on the cockpit, where did you get the pilots and seats? www.jetfx.net Its still in mock up, prototype form at this stage and we hope to have it ready to go into production early 2010, depends much on demand really still at this time. Once finished and detailed I will post some better quality photos hopefully within the next few weeks... |
RE: New KMP PC-21
I think it is gorgeous! Any opinions on how a Syssa 30cc gasser would fit/fly?
