4*40 control rods?

RE: 4*40 control rods?

I used Sullivan Golden rods because I had heard of the trim changes with the stock nyrods. The Golden rods did require trim changes as the temps changed. I flew this way for a few years and then tried the Sullivan carbon rods- no more trim changes.

I havent had any issues with the stock push rods that came with my 4* 40. They seem to do their job on a plane this small.

Same here. Flew the 4* for 2 years, never noticed any trim change using the stock stuff. I think a lot of this " don't use the stock stuff" comes from the makers of the expensive stuff . Just like, the guy that first said" you should have bacon & eggs for breakfast" guess what,-He raised hogs & chickens !!!

I had a kit built 4*60 a few years ago, and in the Texas heat, required a lot of retrimming when flown. Switched to a goldenrod version, and they worked fine. It's probably a climatic issue as to what result you might get.

I've had the 40 and 60 size, i have experienced a little changeing. Nothing worth replaceing the control rod's over.
Just my $00.2 worth.

I had a early 60 ARF that after seeing how the originals worked, I installed Golden Rods inside the original Sig outer tubes. What a pleasure. They worked perfect for the life of the plane.

Put 2-56 into my Four * 40 ARF right from the beginning. I used the plastic for the throttle and notice I am always chasing a even idle.

Hello

I was wondering if it is possible to adjust the length of the Sullivan rods? when i look at their web page they give me a specific length of the cables.

I'm new to model building so it's possible that the answer is given :D

They are cut with a hobby knife to length for the Golden Rods and all the plastic ones as far as that goes
