Can/will anyone comment on how aerobatic is this plane withitsthinner wing and dihedral? Specifically can it safely do snaps and spins? flat spins, knife edges.......etc. Even trainers can do loops and rolls so those are a given. Thanks!!!</span></span>

Thanks plopes for the pictures, cant wait to start mine. Gotta finish my GP ultimate bipe 1st, in the process of coveringit now.
I also have the navy blue one and i'm going to put a 91fx in it. It should be pretty fast. I'm also going to do a white checkerboard on the bottom of the wing.

I had World Models MM with a Saito .91 a few years back. Very nice flyer but tended to nose over when taxiing in the grass. I canted the gear forward a bit which helped. It also tends to float on landing as it istough to slow down. I fixed that by adding spoilerons - ailerons which deflect upwards and served as spoilers when I hit the switch a few feet off the deck. Lot's of fun!

I have this plane with an OS 61FSR. It is aerobatic. It will snap, spin, flat spin upright, stall turn, cuban 8, and I am almost positive it will knife edge. I think mine is balanced just slightly behind the recommended point. Had problems with the landing wire covers moving in flight. They would turn side ways to the slip steam. They are off the plane now. Also had a wheel crack on landing. I was running out of runway so I started waging the tail to slow down. The wheel could not take the side load after many times of doing this.Itis one of my favorite planes. I have 15 that are ready to fly. This one comes out at least every second or third time out.</p></span>

Thanks for the report, Windsheer.  It should knife-edge quite well with that slab of a side, but the wing dihedral might require some mixing out? of a pull or push from the canopy, etc?  This should be a nice project.

I used to have this plane until the fuse decided to separate in front of the tail in flight. As a matter of fact, the third picture at the start of this thread is mine. Great plane. I really miss mine.

Yikes, what were you doing at the time to loose a whole tail?  Seems like the airframe is build like a brick outhouseeverything fully sheeted, etc.  Bad factory glue joints??[:o]

When the tail departed, I was doing some vertical snaps. The break was a glue joint right in front of the vertical fin. Impossible to beef up beforehand unless you want to strip the covering, enforce the glue joint and then re-cover.

I am working on one at the moment. Side mounted Tower .75 with stock exhaust. I think it should go quite good. It took a little work to get the muffler to fit.</p>

Well, I have the engine installation completed, but am concerned about engine cooling. I blocked off the rightside inlet and the bottom scoop to try to direct air over the cylinder.;) I have a total of 3 times the inlet area for cooling exits from the slits in the side of the cowling.;) The firewall is fiberglassed on the outside, and triangle stocked on the inside. I also had to build the fuse up on the inside to enable the notching on the bottom for the stock muffler to be used. I did not want to run a pitts muffler again.;) The wing center section is glassed, and 5/32 music wire will be bent to replace the stock WM wire gear.
I also installed servo mounts in the fuse for dual elevator servo's. I hope to have it flying in a week or two. This has been a long ongoing project for me, since I put it aside all the time for my other planes.
What do you guys think of the factory recommended elevator and rudder linkages (pushrods)? Has anyone installed pull pull for the rudder? Any other tips would be appreciated.

Looking good MOTORMAN37 . I'm still covering my ultimate. Been a long process. Should be starting mine in a couple of weeks I hope.
Thinking of putting a Saito 100 in it. If you can post any video of it that would be cool.

I had the white-and-blue one, years ago, and thoroughly enjoyed it with a GMS76 in the nose. It died after only two flying seasons (faulty on-off switch), but I loved it so much I went out and bought another one right away. This time is is the yellow checkerboard one, and the GMS76 is waiting in storage, along with the Bisson pitts-style muffler. One of these rainy days I'll pull it out and start on WMMM #2.

It was a fast model, and flew very much like the full-scale version, with a streak like a cat with its tail on fire. Man, did it ever do lovely loops and rolls and avalanches. The only bad trait was a tendency to fall out of the turn to final from a low base leg, if flown a bit too slow. It caught be by surprise once, and I ended up pancaking into the tall grass with no warning. Ever after, I kept the final turn wide, with a slight dive toward the threshold.

The biggest design flaw is the wire landing gear, which tends to bend back on a hard landing, which allows the wheel pants to punch holes in the lower wing skins. Use diagonal braces extending back to the rear spar location to prevent this. Other than that, a top quality ARF in every way.

I am getting a little closer. I have to do the elevator and rudder servo's and make the Carbon pushrods for the elevators along with installing the wheels and Canopy and it is done. I thought i was set on the white cowl, untill I met a guy who just moved into town and does Custom Airbrushing for a living. I could not resist the offer to inhance the white paint job.:D

Here is mine guys. It is the older version, got it for $300AU NIB a couple of years back and have flown it hard ever since. I run an OS61 with 11X9 and Pitts muffler and JR gear with 539's all round. It does it all, even knife edge.:) I have the ailerons set to 10 deg or so up to wash away lift while landing and nail it almost every time. Did three eight minute flights today at full niose and had a ball.
It is pretty quick at ten feet banking hard[>:]

Well I finally finished it. I totally redesigned there pushrod system to eliminate slop. The wing is also glassed and the landing gear was replaced with 5/32 music wire along with so any other mods.:D Here are a couple pictures of the finished bird along with guiides I built for the pushrods.;)

Did anybody match the Box's advertiseed weight of 7-1/2 lb's? Mine weighs 7 lb's 15 oz's with a empty tank, but I have the old model which does not have metal pushrods in sleeves like the current plane, but instead uses pushrods which I modded and used 4-40 ends, and a carbon pushrod for the rudder so there is no slop. I hope the little extra weight does not bother it. It ballances right at the 90MM like the manual says. Is that also where you guys found it to really fly the best? This started out as a swap meet $50.00 plane.

Finally! Finished my GP Ultimate Bipe and maidened it, all went well. Started working on my World models Midget Mustang. Wing is completed except for checkerboard on bottom and decals. Installed Saito .100 engine and glued in tail feathers. Will try to work on cowl tomorrow. Pretty easy to assemble so far.
And I pinned the fire wall.

Keep us informed as you go. Are you changing anything? Will you run your Saito 100 without a pump? What servos, etc??

Sorry it took me so long to update this post. Its been in the teens temperature wise here, so the garage is a little cold. Finally wife gave in and allowed me to work on mustang in kitchen. I have the cowl completed. installed fuel dot, volt watch, switch and charging jack. Put together hardwood control rods. The rods came with shrink tubing to hold in wires to dowel, this was very inadequate, so i wrapped it with heavy duty carpet thread and Ca'ed it, very strong and looks much nicer. Installed pilot and canopy, control horns, battery and fuel tank. I will not be using a pump on the Saito .100 at this time, we will see if its needed, but i don't think it will be needed. Still need to fix landing gear covers, checkerboard bottom of wing, install receiver, adjust throws, break in engine an wait for warmer weather. Got a few pictures.
