Default Eflite T-28 front retract question

I made a landing with my T-28 that bent my front gear slightly back from vertical. The retract works fine otherwise. It appears to be bent down where the vertical wire and wheel assembly enters the retract. I have removed the retract, but see no place where I can detach the gear wire and wheel from the retract. I see four smaller screws on the retract, but I am reluctant to remove these for fear of causing damage or dislodging something important inside the retract.

I have looked for a screw on the outside of the case that would allow me to remove the gear from the retract, but I don't see anything.

I am sure this is a common problem with this aircraft. I would appreciate it if anyone who has removed the gear and wheel assembly from the retract could tell me how to do it.

Thanks,

Terry
